Another Successful Year at the Midwest Staffing Conference

As a Platinum Sponsor of the Midwest Staffing Conference last week, Automated Business Designs had a terrific opportunity to share information about Ultra-Staff Staffing Software. The event was hosted by the Illinois Search & Staffing Association (ISSA) and the Wisconsin Association of Staffing Services (WAAS) and took place in downtown Chicago. The event was attended by almost 150 industry professionals from all over the Midwest. The conference is a great forum for staffing industry specialists to hear and learn from professional speakers on how to become a better recruiter.

The conference was an all-day event that began with keynote speaker Frank Bucaro. Frank is an ethics expert who is known for traveling around the United States to give presentations on leadership and values. His presentation was a great way to start off the day. Frank’s enthusiasm and energy had the crowd 100% engaged. Frank commented on the Cowboy Ethics and how more people need to live by this code of ethics. Cowboy Ethics entails: Courage, Take Pride, Finish what you Start, Be Tough but fair, and be Loyal.

Later on in the day, professional speaker, Tom Erb talked to the recruiters about creating sales and recruiting strategies. Tom’s presentation was refreshing and gave new insights on how to track down clients and candidates. He mentioned how powerful the staffing industry is and about the millions of lives the staffing industry has touched. This information pumped up recruiters who were reminded that their work is valuable and that it will always be needed. Tom stressed how networking with others in the industry is one of the best ways to get potential leads. Tom has given presentations to a variety of groups and always swears by networking to generate sales.

Greg Doersching ended the staffing conference with a presentation on technology. Technology has taken over the way that people do business. Greg who is an active recruiter mentioned that many candidates look for job posts on social media versus job boards. As a recruiter if you want to stay current with your candidates and clients you need to be on top of things like social media, having a mobile app, and texting your candidates. It was reassuring that Ultra-Staff does all of these things. According to Greg these important tools will help you stand out as a company when customers are assessing the technology you use.

As a staffing software company at the event, ABD learned a lot on what our customers are looking for in order to succeed. It was great to hear their insights so we can learn to do whatever we can to benefit them. Of course, the presentation was geared toward staffing companies and recruiters, but they were just as motivational to the vendors who attended the event. Well done ISSA and WASS!
